Anal cancer has been shown to be more prevalent and with more aggressive behavior in HIV infected individuals compared to the general population. This malignancy is strongly related to HPV ( Human Papilloma Virus ) infection. If it progresses, drastic treatments including Surgery / Chemotherapy and Radiotherapy may be required. In our Anal Dysplasia clinic, we are committed to identifying the early signs of the disease and offering medical treatments that are not too complex, with the goal of avoiding radical surgery and standard long term cancer treatment. We will work closely, through a referral system, with our local Colo-Rectal Surgeons when needed; hopefully during the earlier stages of the disease.
